ARID AID KENYA (AAK) – ORGANIZATION PROFILE About the Organization Arid Aid Kenya (AAK) is a youth-led, non-profit community organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) of Kenya. The organization operates primarily in Garissa, Wajir, and Mandera counties. It is led by young people aged 18–30 years and focuses on Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation, Governance and Civic Engagement, Child Protection, Education, and Climate Justice. Vision A peaceful, resilient, inclusive, and prosperous society where every young person and community has the opportunity to thrive. Mission To empower young people and communities through peacebuilding, good governance, child protection, quality education, climate justice, and community-driven development initiatives that promote sustainable peace and resilience. Approach Community engagement, awareness campaigns, capacity building, advocacy, partnerships, research, and youth-led initiatives in collaboration with government, civil society, and development partners. Goal To build peaceful, educated, climate-resilient, and empowered communities where young people actively contribute to sustainable development and good governance across North Eastern Kenya.
